Unique Uluru

Admire the many changing colours of Australia's iconic rock as you immerse yourself into this spiritual place in the heart of Australia.

Take in the incredible views from above as we take a scenic flight over Uluru and Kata Tjuta. Indulge in canapés and sparkling wine overlooking Kata-Tjuta National Park at sunset before enjoying the acclaimed Sounds of Silence dinner under the stars. The following day we explore around Uluru and its waterholes and rock art.

Enjoy the company of your generous hosts, The Murray Family, as they share their 320,000 acre home with you.

Immerse yourself in the peaceful landscape, appreciating an Outback sunset with drinks, before relaxing by a camp fire with a home cooked dinner. Trilby Station has 10km of walking tracks along the banks of The Darling River, a state of the art modern shearing shed and aviation hanger for the working machines of the bush. There will be plenty of opportunity to chat to your hosts about their unique lifestyle.

day 1

Sydney to Mungo National Park

Be welcomed by our Crew at Bankstown  Airport (Sydney ) before departing on this unforgettable Outback adventure. Our private Cessna Caravan will sweep us west across NSW to Mungo National Park. Here you can start to unwind for what will be a truly amazing experience over the next week of touring with Outback By Air. We will be doing a sunset tour in the park  with some drinks and canapes before returning to Mungo Lodge for dinner.

Mungo to William Creek

Awaken to the peace and serenity surrounding us at the Mungo National Park before we make our way towards the Silver City – Broken Hill for a quick fuel stop. We then set course for the remote Outback post of William Creek (population 10) on the famous Oodnadatta Track. Our flight path takes us over Lake Frome, a dessert-like melange of gold earth and swirling white salt pans, an amazing sight from above. Take a journey to visit the untouched landscape of The Painted Hills of Anna Creek Station – filled with ancient fossils and spectacular colours. Enjoy true Outback hospitality with drinks and dinner at The William Creek Hotel.

William Creek to Uluru

An exciting day as we head to our country’s heart – the red centre – Uluru. Take in the incredible views from above as we take a scenic flight over Uluru and the Kata Tjuta (air traffic permitting). Get set for an evening of delight at the breath taking Sounds of Silence dinner. Admire the ever changing colour of the rock as the sun sets upon it. Indulging in canapés and sparkling wine overlooking spectacular Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, this evening will be one to remember.

Uluru to Birdsville

An early start to witness the natural splendour of an Uluru sunrise. Our guide will share their knowledge as we drive around the superstar rock, stopping at waterholes and rock art. Our private aircraft will then fly us to a little oasis in the desert for lunch, The Mt Dare Hotel. Next stop is the iconic town of Birdsville, where our plane can taxi right up to the front door of the pub. Where else in the world can you do this? We will enjoy another amazing sunset at “Big Red” overlooking the Simpson Desert.

Birdsville to Longreach

This morning we board our private aircraft for the pioneering town of Longreach. The town is also where where Qantas commenced operations over 100 years ago. Enjoy lunch surrounded by aviation history at the world class Qantas Founders Museum. Take a dip in the pool at our luxury glamping accommodation before cruising the Thomson River. There are endless photo opportunities on this gentle sunset cruise before we go ashore for a traditional Outback dinner and show  under the stars – a night to remember.

Today we swap our wings for wheels and set off in our private transport for a morning  of exploring. Enjoy Outback big sky scenery as we head along The Matilda Highway to the Age of Dinosaurs experience, which will paint a picture of what this area looked like 90 million years ago. Enjoy dinner under the stars at our Retreat.

Longreach to Trilby Station

We rejoin our private aircraft as we fly south through Queensland’s Channel Country, with endless horizons filled with deep red sand hills and orange escarpments. The next leg of our tour finds us at Shindy’s Inn, Louth, indulging in a drink overlooking The Darling River, before heading to Trilby Station – a 320,000 acre working sheep property. We will be hosted by the owners of Trilby, Liz and Gary Murray, gaining insight into life on a remote sheep station. This overnight visit focuses on offering the true Australian Outback station experience. Immerse yourself in the landscape, appreciating an bush sunset with drinks before relaxing by a camp fire enjoying a home cooked dinner, under a star-lit sky.

Trilby Station to Sydney

Our last day in the Outback where those who wish to immerse themselves in nature and the peaceful surroundings can take advantage of Trilby’s 10kms of walking tracks along the banks of The Darling River. Guests will have an opportunity to ask questions about station life as Liz takes us on a walking tour encompassing the state of the art shearing shed and hanger. We will enjoy our farewell lunch at Shindy’s Inn overlooking the Darling. As our Outback adventure comes to a close, relax and enjoy the scenery as our Cessna flies us back home to Sydney.
