day 1

Sydney to Trilby Station

Our crew welcome you to our private lounge at Bankstown Airport (Sydney) before departing on this exciting Outback adventure.

Take in the aerial views from Foxtrot Tango Tango as we head west towards Bourke where we discover the area’s rich pastoral and indigenous culture with a visit to the modern Exhibition centre.

Next stop is the Outback town of Louth, where we take a dirt road to Trilby Station, a family-owned 320,000 acre sheep property. This overnight stop focuses on offering the true Australian Outback station experience, gaining insight into life in the bush. Immerse yourself in the landscape, appreciating a bush sunset with drinks and canapés beneath a ceiling of stars. Enjoy a home cooked meal and hear about life on the station from seventh generation farmers, the Murray family.

Trilby Station to Longreach

We board our private aircraft for Longreach – the town where Qantas commenced operations over 100 years ago. Upon landing in this pioneering town we enjoy a guided tour and lunch at the Qantas Founders Museum, surrounded by aviation history. Discover the Boeing 707 and 747, Super Constellation and legendary DC-3 on our guided tour.

We spend the evening amongst nature in the Thomson River. There are endless photo opportunities on this gentle sunset cruise before we go ashore for a traditional Outback dinner and live show under a canopy of stars.

Longreach & Winton

Today we swap our wings for wheels and set off in our private transport for a day of exploring. Enjoy Outback big sky scenery as we head to the Age of Dinosaurs experience, painting a picture of what this area looked like 90 million years ago. Our visit includes a guided tour of the Collection Room, Fossil Preparation Laboratory and the March of the Titanosaurs exhibition.

We spend the evening enjoying the hospitality at Camden Park Station where the Walker family once hosted the Queen. Outback Dan will give us a tour of this working sheep and cattle station before we toast the sunset from this pastoral oasis.

Longreach to Birdsville

A visit to The Australian Stockman’s Hall of Fame pays tribute to Australia’s pioneers and their contribution to the development of the nation.

We farewell Longreach and witness mesmerising vistas as our aircraft takes us on a journey through Channel Country and the Diamantina to the iconic Outback town of Birdsville. On arrival we can taxi right up to the front door of the pub – where else in the world can you do this?

Experience the stunning sunset over “Big Red”, the tallest sand dune in The Simpson Desert, while enjoying a beer or wine. Enjoy traditional Outback hospitality back at the Birdsville Hotel for dinner.

Birdsville to Uluru

Flying west towards the Red Centre of Australia and into the Northern Territory, our flight path takes us over the expansive Simpson Desert, a unique landscape of sand dunes, desert grass and bush. Prepare for an evening of delight at the breath-taking Sounds of Silence dinner. Admire the ever-changing colour of the rock as the sun sets upon it. Indulging in canapés and sparkling wine overlooking spectacular Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, this evening will be one to remember.

Uluru to William Creek

With Uluru basking in the light as a new day begins, experience the sunrise with a guided drive around the base of the rock. Our tour will include the Mutijulu Waterhole, Rock Art and the Cultural Centre with an Outback picnic breakfast.

Back in the air, we track into South Australia to the remote town of William Creek. Our flight path takes us to the north of the Great Victorian Desert. This evening we enjoy true Outback hospitality with drinks and dinner at the authentic bush pub, The William Creek Hotel, on the famous Oodnadatta Track. The pub is loved by travellers from all around the world.

William Creek to Broken Hill

Back in our Cessna Caravan, take in the views of the magnificent glistening salt pan lake of Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre. Look out for the modern geoglyph, The Marree Man, still one the Outback’s greatest mysteries. Who is behind this extraordinary 3.5km drawing of an indigenous hunter?

We then make our way to the Silver City of Broken Hill, which once boasted 70 pubs and 30,000 inhabitants in its mining heyday! Experience a rich and historical private guided tour of Broken Hill and its local delights. We celebrate our last night in the Outback with dinner at the Tydvil Hotel and a visit to its award-winning gin distillery.

Broken Hill to Sydney

This morning we visit the interactive Royal Flying Doctor Experience and explore first-hand the resilience, resourcefulness and ingenuity of the Flying Doctor.

We depart the Silver City for our journey home where we stop at the The Tilpa Hotel for lunch. Established in 1894 to service the river boat trade, the pub is a classic, character-filled Outback pub made of corrugated iron and timber. This is the perfect place to farewell the Outback on the banks of The Darling River.

As we board the plane for our final leg home, sit back, relax and enjoy the views as we return you to Sydney.
