Sydney to Tibooburra via Bourke

We look forward to welcoming you at Bankstown Airport as we depart on this fun filled weekend adventure to the Outback on The Birdsville Races Tour. We board our private aircraft flying west to Bourke where we visit the Back ‘O Bourke Exhibition Centre to discover the town’s indigenous history and learn about legendary Australians,
including Nancy Bird Walton, Charles Sturt, Major Mitchell and Fred Hollows.

Out next destination is the remote town of Tibooburra in Corner Country, surrounded by an arid landscape and remarkable granite rocky outcrops. You cannot miss the extraordinary Clifton Pugh mural in the bar of the popular watering hole of The Family Hotel, where we will enjoy dinner.

Our first night in the Outback is spent at the historic Tibooburra Hotel. Built during the gold rush from locally quarried sandstone, the hotel was lucky to survive a fire in 2021. We are now 1,187km from Sydney.
